When I first mention Bukit Tinggi Sumatra, people alway confuse it with the one at Pahang, Malaysia. Even when you google it you must type Sumatra or Indonesia to avoid confusion. Whilst googling for info for this trip, I learn a new word SUMUT. It means Sumatra Utara. :)
To get to Bukit Tinggi you can take a flight and land at Padang or Pekan Baru. Both airport serve by Airasia. I also learn that for Padang, Airasia is the only international flight landed there. The rest is Indonesia flight. No wonder Malaysian flock in to visit and even some souvenir shop accept Malaysian Ringgit. Scratch that, when we ask for prices they quoted it in Malaysian Ringgit instead of Rupiah.
Below are some must do attraction in Bukit Tinggi. I might omitted few attraction even it listed in typical tourist attraction because I found it not that interesting.
1. Lembah Maninjau via Kelok 44.
2. Rumah Kelahiran Buya Hamka.
3. Ngarai Sianok.
4, Lobang Japang.
4. Lembah Harau.
Below is the one that we visit on the way and from Padang. If you came from Pekan Baru, these places might be quite far to reach.
1. Pusat Dokumentasi dan Informasi Kebudayaan Minangkabau at Padang Panjang.
2. Istana Pagaruyung at Batu Sangkar.
Itu saje. Hahaha. Not much to do for me. But the view is stunning. A lot of info on Minangkabau culture. Rugi tak amik video because I cant remember all the details. This is must visit if you need to relax and destress. Just relax and enjoy the view.
